Lisa Byrnes - Opera Singer, Mezzo Soprano
Australian born mezzo soprano, Lisa Byrnes, studied voice in Australia, Italy and the United Kingdom and completed a Masters of Performance (Opera) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She has received several scholarships including an award from the Italian Government to study language and libretti in Italy.
Lisa has performed as a soloist at venues including the Sydney Opera House, Symphony Hall in Birmingham, Loftus Stadium in London, and Angel Place Recital Hall in Sydney, and Lisa continues to perform as a soloist in the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia.
The colour and range of her voice, and her ability as an actor, has allowed Lisa to successfully perform repertoire spanning from Baroque, Classical, Romantic and new works.
Performances include singing the mezzo soprano solo for the Verdi Requiem at Birmingham Symphony Hall, and soloist for ‘Highlights of Opera’ at The Sydney Opera House. Recitals and concerts include performances for the Schubert Society of London’s 150th celebrations and the Women’s Council Awards and opera productions for Opera Australia and Opera Queensland.
